I think deeply about marketing and how to reach your target audience online and offline. In this post, I’ll cover all areas of marketing and advertising your mobile application specially the iOS apps.

Your iOS application must solve a problem or fulfill a need which some users of iPhone or iPad have.

You should consider writing a comprehensive description which normal people can understand. For example, do not say OCR but say extract text from images which non-technical people can understand.

Write description that list all features of the iOS application, and its benefits in day-to-day life. Think of all words that normal people may describe your app with. And include those words and sentences in app description in app store.

Consider designing app icon that stand out, and give the user hints about the usage of your app. Use contrasty colorful gradient-ish app icon.

Take a pleasing screenshots of your app. Screenshot that show the ease-of-use and professionalism. Screenshots shows steps to use the app.

Localize your app ๐Ÿ”—

Translate your app description and content to other languages and dialects to reach out more targeted audience in other countries.

Google Adwords ๐Ÿ”—

Use Google Adwords to create ads and serve them on Google and other partner websites. It is a great opportunity to spend 5 or 10 dollars to reach target audience through Google advertising network.

Landing Page ๐Ÿ”—

Buy a domain, and a host on a server from hosting company. And design a website with a landing page for your app. That landing page shows how your app solve / fix the problem. How to use the app with animated image or a video.

Show the features of the app, the benefits of using the iOS app. Show all thing in animated gorgeous pictures and videos.

collect emails before launching the app ๐Ÿ”—

Create the landing page before launching your app in Apple app store. Collect emails of people who want to get an email when the app is published. It is a great opportunity to get an interested audience for your app before it launches.

write a blog post (or even launch a blog) ๐Ÿ”—

Content marketing is great as a longterm marketing plan. So creating a blog to talk about all aspects of your iOS app is a great idea. Talk about how your app solves that problem, how your iOS app make this easier and more fun. Answer all people’s questions that relate to your app and recommend them to use the application on their iPhone and iPad.

Your blog is not popular enough, so try to publish blog posts on others’ blogs as a guest post. It is a great oppotunity to target more audience that interest in your app idea.

Write an e-book of how your apps work technically and how your app has a great user experience (UX).

If you have the option to show up in events and conference, attend and speak if it available. Don’t forget to tell your app story, or a technical story. Show the relevant story to the audience in the event.

Use twitter to tell people about the application. Discuss and show how your app is great with GIFs and images. Don’t forget to be active on twitter to gain the lights.

Create a Facebook page for your iOS application. Tell people about updates, GIFs of animated screenshots, videos about your app. Tell them always what is comming, what is the new features, how the app solves a current problem. Be active on Facebook to gain the lights.

Contact the relevant influencers and let them talk about your iOS app and let them add a link to your landing page on their blog post or video description.

Talk about the story of your app fixing a problem ๐Ÿ”—

Contact journalists and make a deal with them to publish an article about use. You can use titles such as “Best Friends Launch an App to Destroy Instagram” or “SmartOCR App Solves Writing Pain Problem”.

Read all reviews and respond to them all. Be good and help all and appreciate all reviewers.
